Head of Planning (m/f/d)
in München

Your exciting field of work:

In this role, you will act as the key liaison, setting the pace for reliable planning that brings together customer requirements, market information and company objectives. You will establish clear structures between sales and production, ensure a balanced workload across our plants, and guarantee product availability and appropriate stock levels, whilst keeping a close eye on the teams at each site. Through data-driven decisions and a collaborative approach, you will advise senior management and strengthen our company’s success. You will shape a sustainable supply capability
  • Shaping planning processes: Responsibility for an efficient, continuously improved and integrated planning process. Defining interfaces, responsibilities, decision-making and prioritisation rules, as well as guidelines for adjusting demand priorities and for escalating and assessing conflicts of interest between customer requirements, capacity, material availability, delivery performance and production costs
  • Optimal organisation: Close collaboration with the sales department to determine reliable demand based on customer forecasts, order history, market expectations, project progress and demand simulations, as well as monitoring agreed delivery times and contractually guaranteed availability
  • Working strategically: developing a rolling 12-month capacity plan for each production line and consolidating this at plant and group level, whilst ensuring that regular adjustments to customer demand forecasting do not lead to unnecessary changes to the overall plan and that competitive lead times are maintained
  • Operational management: Responsible for drawing up medium- and long-term capacity plans in close collaboration with plant management, covering staffing levels and output, whilst taking into account machine availability, production hours, bottlenecks and automation
  • Improving performance: Managing stock and materials planning for raw materials and finished goods, including safety and risk stocks, and coordinating closely with supply chain management and procurement to ensure appropriate stock levels, replenishment parameters and material availability
  • Responsible leadership: Leading an international team across three locations and ensuring the continuous development of staff through regular feedback, coaching and the clear communication of expectations and responsibilities

Your convincing skills:

  • Basics: A degree in a relevant subject area or a comparable qualification or further training
  • Knowledge: At least ten years’ professional experience in production planning or a comparable field, as well as a sound understanding of integrated planning, inventory and materials processes
  • Passion: Several years’ experience and a genuine enjoyment of leading and developing international teams
  • Communication: Confident, professional communication, as well as fluent spoken and written German and English
  • Strengths: An analytical and structured approach to work, strong decision-making skills, adaptability and a respectful leadership style
  • Willingness to travel: Willingness to undertake international travel for up to 25 per cent of working hours
